Database Backup
All Arvancloud database clusters have an automatic failover mechanism and when an error occurs in the primary node, it will be replaced with another node. However, if you lose data for any reason such as human error, you can restore the database backup. These backups are created automatically and daily and kept for up to 7 days. In addition, every 5 minutes, an incremental backup for PITR recovery is also created so that you can restore the database data to a specific time in the past. You can also take an instant backup of your database.
In the future, the ability to restore PITR backups will be added to the Arvancloud Managed Database.
Automatic Backup
Automatic backups are created daily and kept for 7 days. To view them, after entering the Arvancloud user panel and the Managed Database section, click on the desired cluster and go to the "Backup" tab.
In this section, you can see the list of full backups of your database. You can also restore one of them using the "Restore to new node" option.
Note that backups are restored on a new cluster.
By clicking on this option, you will enter the steps of creating a new cluster. The guide to Creating a Database Cluster will help you in this step.
After confirming the settings, a new cluster with the tag "Backup" will be created in your user account. The duration of building this cluster can vary based on the volume of data.
Instant Backup
If you need to back up your data before applying sensitive changes, you can use the Instant Backup feature.
After entering Arvancloud user panel and Managed Database section, click on the desired cluster and select "Instant Backup" from the actions menu.
Then write a description for the backup and press the "Backup Now" button.
The backup process takes some time depending on the amount of data, and then you can view it in the "Backup" tab.
