Two-factor Authentication

Using the two-factor authentication method is one of the best ways to improve the security of your ArvanCloud account. Using this method, in addition to the Email and password, you need to enter the activation code sent to you via SMS, Email, or the Authenticator Apps.

To turn on the two-factor authentication of your user account, click on the name of your user account in the top right of the page and then click on the profile option.

On the next page, click on "2-factor Authentication" under "Security Settings" from the menu on the left. Then, by selecting one of the options from SMS (entering the activation code via SMS), email (using the activation link via email) or Authenticator (entering the code provided in the authentication app), or multiple options together, enable or disable two-factor authentication for your account.

To activate SMS and email methods, just turn them on using the button in front of each one.

Note that by turning on these features, you must perform two-factor authentication the next time you log in to your account, and it will not be possible to disable it without logging into the panel.

2fa with Authenticator Apps​

Authenticator apps like Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, Microsoft Authenticator, and Duo are small, free mobile apps that are used to generate security codes that are more secure than SMS. To use this solution, first, install one of these applications on your mobile phone and then click on the "Initial Settings" in the security settings of ArvanCloud's panel.

By choosing this method, you need to scan the displayed QR code using your mobile or tablet app to connect to your ArvanCloud account.

If you can't scan the QR code, click on the "Get Secret Code" option to get a code and enter it manually in the application to connect your ArvanCloud account.

Finally, activate this authentication method on your user account by clicking on the button in front of Authenticator. From now on, when entering the panel, you must open the program and enter the code provided by the app in the panel to complete the process of logging into your account.

Some authentication tools have features like Backup and Sync to help you restore access if you lose your device. It is recommended to definitely use these features for more certainty.
