Cloud Security

Using the security features of Arvancloud's CDN service, you will be safer in dealing with all kinds of attacks and cyber threats. The features include WAF, Firewall, Protection Against DDoS Attacks, and Rate Limit.

Here, we help you get started with using each feature.

1st Step: CDN Configurations

To use the Arvancloud cloud security service, you need to have the CDN service activated on your domain. The following instructions will help you configure the Arvancloud CDN service:

If the CDN is only active for the main domain (and not the subdomains), the configuration will only be applied to the main domain. Therefore, if you wish to turn on the features for those subdomains, you need to make sure that the cloud symbol is turned on for all of them.

Also, please note that in the Arvancloud security services, the security modules will be implemented in the following order:

  1. Firewall

  2. DDoS Protection

  3. Rate Limit

  4. WAF

In the Rate Limit module, the limit will be applied only when the request is not or cannot be cached in Arvancloud CDN.

2nd Step: Configurations

The features of the Arvancloud CDN service include WAF, firewall, protection against DDoS attacks, and rate limit. You can choose which of these features you would like to activate and configure.

The following section will introduce the basic configurations for each feature.

Firewall Configurations

You can configure your settings so that users’ from selected locations would not be able to access your website. Here is how:

WAF Configurations

Arvancloud’s WAF configuration must be done accurately. Otherwise, your website’s accessibility will be compromised.

Therefore, make sure you read the instructions here before configuring your settings:

Then, activate the WAF feature in the CDN section of your user panel.

DDoS Protection

DDoS attacks send a high volume of traffic to your server to make it inaccessible. The attacks can happen in three different layers, which is why Arvancloud’s DDoS Protection feature, designed to protect these layers, can prevent these types of attacks. The guide below will help you configure your settings:

Rate Limit Configuration

You can limit the number of users' requests with the help of Arvancloud rate-limit feature. Here is how:

Please note that incorrect configuration in each of these features can cause disruption in your website traffic.

Layer 4 proxy

This feature helps you provide security and acceleration for your TCP-based applications. Using this feature, you can route Non-Web protocols such as email, SSH, FTP, games, etc. through TCP in Arvancloud, to hide the origin servers address and protect them from DDoS attacks. The following guide will help you configure this feature:
